# Authentication

Generate a Consio API key and authenticate API requests with a Bearer token.

Generate a Consio API key and send it as a Bearer token on every API request.

## Create an API key

1. Open your Consio workspace.
2. Go to **Settings > API Keys**.
3. Generate a new API key.
4. Copy the API key and save it somewhere secure.

## Authenticate API requests

Pass your API key in the `Authorization` header as a Bearer token on every API request.

```http
Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY
```

Replace `YOUR_API_KEY` with the API key you generated in your Consio workspace.
